The Story of Cruz
Chapter 1: The Big Idea
On a warm evening in the magical beach town of La Cruz, Mexico, two recruitment enthusiasts sat under a palm tree, frustrated by the antiquated hiring systems available to their startup partners.
As lifelong recruiters, they had been so preoccupied building other people's dreams that they overlooked building their own. Later that night, under that same palm, a "metaphorical coconut" fell on their heads and suddenly the idea became clear: they would need to create a specialized marketplace, designed by recruiters, to simplify the scaling process.
Chapter 2: The Academy
Recognizing that sustainable success is built upon exceptional fundamentals, the two set out to distill their “secret tech sourcing formula” into a repeatable training program.
After a year of testing prototypes and conducting market research, their tech sourcing program was born. This became the foundation for their recruiting academy that would ensure the marketplace contained reliable and consistent recruiting talent. Today, the academy has evolved into a gamified, e-learning experience. Our students navigate between sourcing & recruiting worlds, encountering real-world situations as they journey towards graduation.
Chapter 3: The Marketplace
With the guarantee of graduates in the near future, the pair turned their attention towards building a frictionless scaling solution for their hiring partners.
Drawing from their past experiences, they aimed to build a more cohesive recruiting world. With an emphasis on simplicity and data-centric services, the marketplace would serve as a one-stop shop for any hiring need. Today, our partners are able to match with recruiting talent, request embedded services, and hire recruiting operators on demand.
Chapter 4: The Community
As the marketplace transitioned from concept to development, a wave of layoffs impacted the tech world, leaving recruiting talent of all levels with no place to turn.
The team immediately adapted the marketplace to be a home for those that were impacted by layoffs, reductions in force, or seeking new opportunities. Today, Cruz Community members gain access to entrepreneurial resources, recruiting support, shared knowledge, and most importantly - a place to belong.
Chapter 5: The Beginning
With the marketplace completed, there now exist a community - exclusively for recruiters and a scaling solution - specifically for startups. It was time for the tandem to debut their big idea … aiming to change R4R (Recruiting for Recruiters) forever.
However, this is just the beginning of the story for this dynamic duo. Despite being back in the bustling city of Austin, Texas, they still feel driven by the same magical sense of possibility they first encountered under that palm tree in La Cruz.
